Data Proxy

Nature of Profile

The Data CoE gathers various expert profiles around data (data engineers, data scientists, BI experts, etc.) in order to build data products and best serve our internal clients needs. As a member of the Data CoE, the Data Proxy has a key role in:

- Supporting the demands for analytical and data-related needs concerning the business unit under your responsibility (e.g. identifying the required data to serve a use case, propose and manage the delivery of an adequate data flow to serve it, etc.

- Ensuring a consistent delivery when delivering those data flows, while relying as much as possible on existing data assets and contributing to the enrichment (and documentation) of these data flows, by liaising with the other data proxys and data architects

- Supervising the run and the evolution of data products (e.g. change requests, bugs, etc.)

The Data Proxy needs to :

- Be problem solving oriented with strong analytical thinking

- Be able to design the architecture of end-to-end data flows

- Communicate and manage interaction with business teams and technical audience (data scientists, data engineers, data architects, tech leads, production teams)

- Understand business needs, (re) formulate business requirements while working in a demanding environment with various stakeholder

Business & Technical Skills :

· Strong experience of business & IT agile ways of working

· Tech oriented and strong knowledge in various technologies and solutions to properly design data products (mainly linked to data, e.g. ETL, data lake & delta lake concepts, dimensional modelling, REST APIs ...)

· Proven hands-on experience in managing end-to-end data project

· Experience in data modelling / design (Kimball, Immon, Data Vault approaches...), ability to put these methods in practice (Slowly Changing Dimensions, Point in time tables, chasm/fan trap management)

· Python, SQL, BI Tools (Tableau and/or Power BI). Spark / Databricks is a plus

Behavorial & Management Skills :

· Strong analytical thinking, solution oriented and force of proposal

· Capacity to navigate in a matrix and international environment

· Capacity to bridge the gap between business demands and technical stakeholders implementation

Additional skills :

• 5+ years of experience in managing end-to-end data projects (including modeling, transformation and integration initiatives)

• Knowledge of financial services industry in general and insurance in particular is a plus

• French & English very fluent

· Datalake : Azure Data Lake Gen 2

· Data engineering : Microsoft Azure Databricks

· Data sources : SQLServer, IBM DB2 Warehouse, Oracle, API REST

· Reporting : Tableau Software, Power BI

· ELT : inhouse python + SQL generation, DBT

· API & services : Python Flask / fastapi, Docker, Kubernete
