IT Operations Engineer

Adoc Staffing Solutions is looking for a System Engineer for their client, a leading provider of GPS fleet management solutions for business. The candidate will be based in Dublin, Ireland and support systems in Dublin and USA offices and data centres.

I.T operations team own and manage development, test and production environments and are responsible for system uptime and performance. The team liaises closely with development teams in Dublin and USA.

I.T. operations team Plans, develops, deploys, tests and optimises network systems. Team is also responsible for configuration management, deployments and overall operational readiness of network systems, databases and applications for environments primarily on Windows operating systems, and provides troubleshooting and fault-finding services for network and system problems.



This occupation has a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification in computers.

Role and Responsibilities

Code Deployments in Development, Test and Production environments
Troubleshoot and resolve the website, windows services and database deployment issues.
Pro-active monitoring of Production SaaS environment.
Ensure uptime and performance tuning of the SaaS environment.
High-level problem troubleshoot and rectify issues on website (.Net , IIS) , windows services and Sql Server database.
Tracking system capacity (CPU, memory, disk space, etc.) and reporting/correcting any issues and performance tuning
Manage and administer virtualized Test and development environment based on Hyper-V
Liaise with datacentre technical staff for setting up and manage hosted infrastructure
Installing, configuring, updating and maintaining server software/hardware mainly on Microsoft platform
Replacing failed hardware and addressing system problems
Manage systems components, systems software, networking infrastructure and hardware peripherals for reliability, performance, scalability and security.
Installing software upgrades and security patches
Manage and administer Active Directory
Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to include Visio diagrams to ensure efficient planning and execution including design, installation, and administration documentation.
Participate in planning for aspects of systems support including Backup policy, administration, disaster recovery and participating in DR drills.
